The Palmer House is a member of the Historic Hotels of America. The first house opened in 1870, and the present building in 1925. It was built as a wedding present from Potter Palmer to his bride Bertha.
Spiral staircase is a magical architectural creation.
Palmer House staircase doesn’t loop in a perfect curve.
It bends, and curls, and twists following a labyrinth of entanglement.
BTW: Chocolate brownie was invented at the hotel for the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893.
